Description
Lilly was founded by Colonel Eli Lilly in 1876. He was committed to developing high-quality medicines that met the real needs of patients. His guidance to future generations of workers was to "take what you find here and make it even better."
More than 140 years later, we remain committed to his vision in all of our business areas, as well as in our operations with patients who use our drugs, healthcare professionals and employees, and in the communities in which we make an impact.
Lilly develops drugs that improve people’s quality of life globally.
Lilly's operations are guided by three core values:
Integrity: We comply with applicable laws in our business. We are sincere in our interactions with customers, employees, financiers, partners, suppliers, competitors, and representatives of the communities we serve.
Excellence: Our goal is to develop medical innovations, manufacture quality products and achieve good business results.
Respect for people: Our corporate culture is based on respect, openness and the uncompromisingness of the individual. We strive to promote the well-being of all the people who deal with our company, be they customers, employees, funders, partners, suppliers or representatives of different communities.
New inventions have been in our sights since Eli Lilly opened the company’s first laboratory. More than 140 years and nearly 100 medicines later, we continue to strive to make new inventions and find new ways to improve people’s quality of life.
